Payment card fraud
schemes are constantly evolving. It's vital that you review your risk
management results regularly and adjust your parameters to keep up with
changing conditions.
Why review your risk management results?
- Reduce false positives
- Decrease losses
- Improve internal processes
- Enhance cardholder satisfaction
To assist in this
effort, OneBridge is pleased to introduce quarterly reviews designed to help
you keep your risk management parameters performing at optimum levels.
We have completed
reviews with two clients who found tremendous value in the evaluation. The reviews fostered open discussion which led to positive action towards balancing
loss prevention with cardholder satisfaction.
Here are a few examples
of changes that were made as a result of the reviews:
- We removed a few real-time authorization filters for one client because
they were causing a negative impact on cardholders and were no longer successfully capturing fraudulent transactions.
- We streamlined velocity monitoring rules to distinguish between
debit and credit card users. New rules were created based on the actual spending
patterns of each program.
- We discovered that the card activation process was failing
periodically for one client. The discovery led to more investigation and, ultimately, resolution.
Reviewing the results of your fraud detection and prevention strategy is a proven
catalyst to increasing the effectiveness of the services available with OneBridge.
With the peak shopping
season just around the corner, now is an ideal time to evaluate the risk
management parameters you have in place. Make sure your card program is finely
tuned for the upcoming holiday season. Call us today to schedule your first
quarterly review!

We are delighted to welcome two new clients from opposite ends of the country who are bringing their credit card programs in-house . . . with a little help from OneBridge.
|
|
United Health Credit Union in Burlingame, California, is set to go live with in-house credit cards and our Gateway Credit solution on October 23, 2009. United Health Credit Union is a $39 million credit union that was formed in 1985 by the merger of two hospital credit unions. Since then, United Health has expanded its mission and now also serves the entire Burlingame community. |

|
New Castle County School Employees FCU will be converting their outsourced credit card program to an in-house program using our Gateway Credit solution on January 22, 2010. New Castle County School Employees FCU is a $36 million full-service credit union located in New Castle, Delaware. They are celebrating 54 years of service to a growing membership of more than eight thousand. |
This strategic decision positions both institutions to:
- Provide a more convenient credit card product to their cardholders, and
- Cost-effectively grow their portfolios.
Please join us in welcoming United Health and New Castle to OneBridge!

Training Focuses on Effective Risk Management
When it
comes to combating fraud, we're all in it together. So this summer, we hosted
client training at our corporate headquarters in Indianapolis to help OneBridge clients
minimize fraud losses.
The
session turned out to be a great forum for clients to share their stories and
for all of us to work together to explore new solutions to each institution's
challenges. We reviewed OneBridge's risk management tools, with special
emphasis on Proactive Risk Manager (PRM) Analysis and Review.
We
understand it can be difficult to balance cardholder satisfaction with risk
management controls. But we're happy to report that class attendees left Indianapolis armed with
new ideas for improving cardholder convenience while saving time and money in
the fight against fraud.
The
two-day training session also included a visit to the Personix card
personalization facility in Indianapolis, where clients saw firsthand the
operations and security controls involved in generating cards and getting them
out the door and into cardholder hands.

Visa News
Visa Launches Global Advertising Campaign
More people GO with Visa
On March 2, Visa launched its first global
advertising campaign, entitled "More people go with Visa". The new campaign unifies Visa's worldwide marketing under a single theme that highlights the superior value Visa products offer versus cash and checks - including
more security, more control and more convenience.
The "More people go with Visa" campaign
delivers on their commitment to offer increased value to their clients. It was
created with the goal of migrating consumer and business spending from cash and
checks to Visa and, in doing so, helping you grow your payments business. The
campaign is designed to complement your marketing efforts, by positioning Visa
as the facilitator of transactions - that moment in time where people are
taking action to buy the things they need. With Visa's marketing efforts
centered on driving usage, they better enable you to focus your marketing
resources on competitive differentiation and strengthening cardholder
relationships. Additionally, the "More people go with Visa" campaign
establishes a single global marketing message that will be executed locally for
maximum relevance and impact: The "More people go with Visa"
platform:
- works across all geographic regions and demographics;
- readily adapts to both brand and product executions;
- is well suited to traditional and new media; and
- strongly supports Visa's sponsorship properties and merchant partnership programs
Recognizing the global economic climate into which the "More people go with Visa" campaign is being launched, the campaign reflects that for people who are ready to go, Visa is a better and more responsible way to pay. The campaign reinforces Visa's commitment to enabling clients to empower their cardholders with a wide range of payment products that best fit their individual situations. It also reminds people to go responsibly and that Visa offers free financial literacy and money
management tools to help them do so.
We invite you to see the new creative content at www.visa.com/globaladvertising. As you'll see, the campaign elements - print, broadcast, online and outdoor - all bring to life the link between going and payments.
As part of the campaign, Visa is also hosting a
consumer website called "let's go save some money." where cardholders have access to money saving offers from leading retailers. Get in on the action by adding a Visa "let's go save some money."
link to your website. Check
it out.

held its CEO for a Day contest again this year. The contest was open to 4th and 5th graders from the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, members and business customers. The contest required the children to write essays about what they want to be when they grow up. More than 140 essays were received.
NorthPark Community Credit Union of Boone County, IN recently participated in the United Way's Backpack Attack, a program in which they joined forces with the United Way to collect supplies to fill backpacks in preparation for the upcoming school year.
